INTRODUCTION:

WHAT: went to the museum

WHO: Rooms 5,6,7,8. Parent helpers were Lisi and Harriet.

WHEN: Wednesday 12th September 2018.

WHERE: Auckland Museum, The Domain.

WHY: Our inquiry topic is about natural disasters, so went to see the volcano room.

HOW: bus.

PARAGRAPH 1: GOING THERE

Did the roll and go into groups - went to the hall. Our parent helpers were Lisi (Lily’s mum) and Harriet (Reigns nana). Mrs F talked to us. Got on the bus.

Morning tea, put our bags away, museum people told us the rules.

PARAGRAPH 2: GROUND FLOOR

Ancient stuff - century, clothes

Maori court - waka, treaty of waitangi, weapons, greenstone, taniwha, tattoo, Marae took a picture. Take our shoes off. Bone. taiaha. 

Pasifika stuff  - Moana boat, Tonga sign photo, touching the water.

PARAGRAPH 3: FIRST FLOOR

Volcano room - shaking, screamed, laughed, rock statue, pumice, obsidian, basalt, lifting up the rocks, musical rocks hit with the hammer, fake volcano and ash cloud, Pompei lady, lava bomb, lava tree, lights flickered, watching the news, 

Weird and wonderful - kids playing with bones, turtle shells, spiders, kiwi, coloured, cool camera thing, stairs with bean bags, soft animals, fake bats.

Dinosaur room - shark hanging from the roof, bones, fossils, eggs, cave, birds, bats. Took a class photo. Kiwi. wetas. Insects. Snakes. 

PARAGRAPH 4: TOP FLOOR

War stuff - weapons, massive torpedo in a fake submarine, guns, gun noises playing, lots of names of people who died in the wars, aeroplanes - Spitfire and a Zero. prime ministers and presidents pictures. Hitler. World war 2 - benghazi, alamein, allies and axis. Badges that people wore or they earnt. Telephones that you could listen to people talking. 

Butterfly room - coloured butterflies, took a photo of kids with the wings, getting hungry and tired.

PARAGRAPH 5: LUNCHTIME AND GOING HOME

Met down in the lobby, waited for the other classes, went to the field, ate our lunch, played games. 

Went to the bus at 1.30pm.

Came back to school  - arrived at 2pm. 

CONCLUSION: HOW I FELT

Exhausted but had a really good day.

My highlight was…..

WRITE HERE: On wednesday the 12th of september room 8 and room 7, room 6, room 5 went to the museum. We went because we learnt about natural disasters.

We got there in the bus on our way there we were singing songs we sang e o 

tua and maori songs i forgot it. Finally we got there when we got there we had to go on the stairs and have morning tea. when we finish eating we lined up outside the door and waited so we walked in and we had to sit on these cool couches there was no space so i sat on the ground, we had to put our bags in this cage. Than this guy that works there he told us the rules around the museum soon or later we had to stand up in lines of two and we walked in our first place of the history it was all about old pictures and old plates and cups.the next room was about maori staff the first thing i look at was the sticks and the clothing of the maori culture, there was a big waka you could go under it. After the maori staff we walked to the animal place i like animals my favorite was a snake but there is no snake in NZ, they weren’t real they were fake, also there was sharks.then after that we walked to Weird and Wonderful when i walked in there was toilets on the side of it but i didn't need to go so i walked up there was soft animals and this camera is for the TV.So we walked to the WW1 and 2 i think, it was kind of scary there's this place with bags on the side and like a cabin with phone. After that we walked up into the plane there was a stairway up on the side.than we got to kind of the end we went past a library your not allowed to talk but kordell was make noise than liseula  flicked his ear and pulled him to the back, so we carried on into the volcano place there was a house like normal house, but when you go in you need to sit down and there's this screen with a volcano but when it erupt the house moves just like if it will happen in real life.than we moved to the last thing the butterfly place the was a slide kinda thing i didn’t like it so i told liseula if we can go so we lined up and went down the elevator to the start than we went outside and had lunch than we played races than after we had to go back in the bus to go school.

I felt happy and hyped when we got there and exited.
